IP Address Converter

Convert IPv4 and IPv6 between canonical text, expanded form, integer, hex, binary and bytes. Inspect classification, PTR names and CIDR context, compare two addresses, or process a batch—entirely in your browser.

A common-prefix result describes the smallest power-of-two CIDR block containing both addresses. It does not imply that the two hosts are actually configured on that subnet.

Strict conversion rules

Dotted IPv4 is parsed strictly as four decimal octets—never as legacy octal. IPv6 output uses lowercase hexadecimal and longest-zero-run compression. Numeric conversion uses BigInt, so all 128 IPv6 bits are exact.

Scope IDs such as fe80::1%eth0 are accepted for inspection; the scope text is preserved separately rather than treated as part of the 128-bit address.

Local-only by design

The tool does not perform WHOIS, GeoIP, DNS or reachability lookups. Address classification is deterministic from standardized ranges and does not send addresses to a third party.
